The first three programmes of the 1950/51 season were 12 pages and almost identical to the previous campaign. From the Millwall issue on 13 Sep however, the programme increased to 16 pages. The usual suspects were there, including full-page adverts for Barrington’s and the Grand Theatre. Another full-pager was the advert for Hollamby’s Chemist, with a brilliant drawing of a variety of elixirs and linctus. Well worth a look. This is arguably the start of a golden age for Albion programmes. Also worth looking at are the scans from the matches held at the Goldstone for the Festival of Britain, which included games against Galatasaray, Nancy and Hamborn.
