1956/57 Division 3 (South)
about the programme
Twenty-four league & cup programmes isuued. All were 12 pages, apart from 3 games towards the start of the season (Watford, Brentford, Aldershot). In addition, there were four friendly issues. Two used the standard 4-page ‘friendly’ format. The other two (Bank Ostrava & MTK Budapest) were a larger-format ‘special’ issue (see below). The season opener had a few gaps for advertisers and it took until the beginning of November for all these gaps to be filled. Billy Lane had his usual 2 pages and a big change came in the way the team line-ups were published. Instead of across 2 pages, it was condensed into 1 page, still ‘topped and tailed’ by adverts. The advertising stayed much the same as the previous season, with Crosse & Blackwell and Hove Greyhound Stadium on the front & back pages respectively.
