about the programme
For Albion’s first-ever season as a top flight club, the programme retained the format and page count (24), but with slight variations to the cover for each game. With match details across the bottom, four smaller colour photos surrounded a black & white photo in the middle that changed each week. The one exception was for the opening game against Arsenal, for which a 32-page ‘official souvenir’ was produced. Three extra issues were needed for two League Cup ties and a re-arranged game against Aston Villa, originally postponed in February 1980.
