1958/59 - Division Two
about the programme
Despite promotion and the prospect of larger crowds, Albion opted to retain the 8-page programme for 1958/59. Two games were 4-pagers (Liverpool & Derby County). The fold-out format was ditched in favour of a return to traditional stapled programme. Photographs were used regularly for the first time, usually an action shot from a previous game, sourced from the Evening Argus. Cinema & Theatre listings continued, with the Savoy, Essoldo and Astoria cinemas all featured, alongside the Hippodrome Theatre. Crosse & Blackwell started the season as the main cover sponsor but were replaced in October by FRYCO, who returned to the front page of the programme for the first time since the early 1940s.
