1969/70 - division three
about the programme
A new cover design for 1969/70, with a predominantly blue background and a football graphic, above the match details. Twenty-three league programmes were joined by three League Cup issues and two in the FA Cup. The visit of First Division Wolverhampton Wanderers in September 1969 brought out the pirate programmes, with an 8-pager produced by ‘Starkey of Hammersmith’. There was also a 4-page issue for the pre-season friendly against a Gibraltar FA XI. Inside, the 16 pages were supplemented by the Football League Review, stapled into programmes throughout the season. See HERE for those magazines.

There was heavy snow on this day and fans arriving at Brighton and Hove railway stations were disappointed to read notices saying the game was off. They were even more disappointed to find out later that the game had taken place. This explains the very small crowd.
